From Fashion to Fulfillment: Welcome to carexelm

Welcome!

I’m Elizabeth Mahoney, and whether you stumbled upon this page or intentionally sought it out, I’m grateful that you’re here. This space is a reflection of my journey to embrace what truly brings me joy and to share it with you. Like many, I've faced moments of self-doubt and the fear of judgment, but each step along my path has led me right here to this moment. Thank you for joining me as we explore and celebrate fashion, design, and self-expression together.

Who am I?

Let me introduce myself. I'm a Southern California native who spent my twenties in the bustling streets of NYC. Needless to say, I will forever, proudly hold onto my 917 area code. With over two decades of experience in the retail and fashion industry, I've had the privilege of working with iconic brands like Sam Edelman, 7 for All Mankind, Splendid, and most notably, Ralph Lauren. It was during my time at Ralph Lauren that I truly discovered my passion for design and merchandising, shaping my early career path.

In 2018, along with completing my yoga alliance certification, I made a pivotal shift into marketing, drawn by the evolving landscape of digital experiences within the retail sphere. Over the past six years, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with visionary entrepreneurs and coaches, immersing myself in the world of online marketing, business strategy and leadership development. Now, more than ever, I'm driven by the realization that my passions and expertise can make a meaningful difference, particularly for women in leadership roles and beyond.

What is carexelm?

I present to you carexelm (pronounced "care by elm"), a culmination of my passions, skills, and experiences. "Care" embodies the essence of what I aim to impart to others, while "elm" represents my initials, a nod to my roots and my path of growth.

In recent years, I've discovered that many struggle with defining their personal style and translating it into a cohesive wardrobe and/or living space. This challenge isn't exclusive to individuals but extends to business owners, creative professionals, and busy parents juggling multiple responsibilities. For me, fashion and design have always been sources of comfort and self-expression. My late mother and I shared a genuine love for clothes, shopping, and decorating, instilling in me a deep appreciation for style from a young age.

My mom and I pre-Winter Formal. We loved, and found such joy and connection in the whole ‘getting ready’ aspect of life together.

Why should you care?

Beyond my extensive knowledge and experience, I'm a Generator with a ⅓ personality profile, according to Human Design. In essence, that code talk implies I'm a knowledge seeker and an experimenter, driven by curiosity and a desire to explore new ideas. Fashion, self-care and overall lifestyle are among my top interests, but above all, I'm passionate about people. I'm endlessly fascinated by the human experience and strive to offer positivity and support to others in my own way. I know that many struggle to make design choices in their own wardrobe and in living and working environments, endlessly scrolling Pinterest and other social media platforms for the answers that become an overwhelming sea of options.
